About The Craig J. Geiger
Memorial Golf Tournament?
The Craig J. Geiger Memorial Golf Tournament is an annual fundraiser which focuses on charity and scholarship.
This year’s target cause is The Coco Foundation. Coco Lazaridis is a 2 ½ year old girl living with Juvenile Myelomonocytic Leukemia (JMML), an extremely rare form of childhood leukemia.
Craig was a 1992 graduate of Whitehall High School and standout baseball player. He was a veteran of the Blue Mountain Baseball League. Craig had been a Private Contractor for the United States Military working in many Middle East nations. In July of 2007, Craig unexpectedly passed away.
Friends of Craig assembled upon his passing to find a way to give back to him and his family. The Golf Tournament was started in 2008 as a means to establish a working college education fund for his daughters.
Craig’s family along with the organizing committee decided that this tournament could impact the lives of others beyond his daughters. Thus the tournament was renamed, The Craig J. Geiger Memorial Golf Tournament. All proceeds from the tournament will be redistributed into a $1,000 College Scholarship awarded to a Whitehall High School senior baseball player, with the remainder issued to a chosen charity.
